Here is a short, random rant of a concept for an interesting job, the “Social Network Integrator,” SNI for short. The SNI is someone who can plan a successful integration between two different social networks. The objective of the position would be to provide a seamless, harmonious integration that rapidly lead to increased overall value for each of the network’s participants. An example of this would be if LinkedIn were to merge into the Yahoo! community, or a Hyves merged with a friendster. A social network integrator would examine all of the various metrics involved in the two networks, from both a very high level down to the minute details of functionality, but with a focus on only areas that are relevant. For instance, duplications of identity / profiles, crossover of user networks, interests and subject matter, tags, etc. This person would be heavily involved in the assessment of such a merger, and be responsible for complete integration post acquisition / merger. I am sure this job exists in some form already, if you know anyone who does something like this, what is their official title? Maybe some kind of technical analyst? I am curious more than anything.
